Recommended actions and comments

3. Improve traffic flows.

(see paras 11, 17, 24

3.1 Reduce congestion in the village centre (eg reduce traffic through the village, enforce parking restrictions in the High St and near Hall Orchard school at peak times, improve the off-road car parks).

3.2 Encourage people to walk to the shops and schools (ie not use their cars in the village centre).

3.3 Make Slash Lane/access to the A6 so they don’t flood, thereby reducing extra traffic through Barrow.

3.4 Enable two-way traffic over the Soar Bridge so that it is no longer a bottleneck (eg create a new foot bridge for pedestrians and cyclists).

3.5 Create a new, safe, flood-free route for pedestrians and cyclists between Barrow and Quorn.
