Grove Lane Bridge reopens

Grove Lane Bridge reopens almost 8 months after the collapse.

It was a landmark day for Barrow. The bridge collapsed on Tuesday 2nd August 2016, and work to repair has taken almost 8 months to complete. Road traffic can now start to return to normal, and hopefully the high street will be a little quieter in the busy times, morning and early evening.

However, with almost impeccable timing, Severn Trent contrived to spoil the party by closing Melton Road just days after the bridge was reopened.
